Can't edit flow in new designer; can't save an edit in old designer; Catch 22?

When I try to edit a particular flow I get 'New designer can't be used for this flow yet' because it 'Uses a connection instead of a connection reference (solution flows only)'.

OK.

But then when I make an edit in the old designer and try to save, I get 'This flow contains unpublished draft changes which need to be edited in the new designer experience. The previously published version is shown. You can either switch to the new designer or remove the draft changes and continue working in the old designer.'
But I can't switch to the new designer experience because 'New designer can't be used..' etc..

So I can't edit it in either experience...?!

According to the summary page it IS using a Connection Reference rather than a connection, but that doesn't seem to matter.

I imported this flow from another environment using a Solution, so it is 'in an solution'. Is there any way to get it OUT of a solution so I can edit it in this environment? It's quite a complex beast to completely remake from scratch.

@JonathanGibbs The new designer is still pretty buggy. Have you tried to save in the Classic Designer (before making any edits)?

    Hope this helps!

@creativeopinion I think I've cracked it by using 'Save as..' to make a copy - which did open ok in New Designer. Then edit the copy, save it, delete the old, 'Save as' the copy under the old title, delete the flow from my Power Apps, Add new flow, refresh the list, add the new version..

What a palaver. As you say, still pretty buggy...

This issue is still present indeed.

The proposed solution works... but only for a while. If you then just leave without saving in the new editor or forget to publish the flow, it will happen almost certainly that the flow "breaks again" and reverts to the old editor, now with even more connection errors than before...
