Hi All,

I'm having a issue with the Combo box in the canvas app. We are using coauthoring and GitHub for version control.

All of sudden the Combo Box Display Field and the Search Field values got changed to random/default value (All the Combo boxes from couple of screens). I tried to change it back to the value which we want to be there in the dropdown but it's always changing back to the random value.

For e.g. In the attached screenshot, the Display Fields and the Search Fields should be Mail and the Display name but it's always showing City.

Any one else went through the same issue? really appreciate your time and help on this. Thank you!

This happens very often with Comboboxes when the Items property is changed. Any changes to the Items causes the combobox to have to re-evaluate what the schema of the Items are. Based on that it then "guesses" as to what the most likely display and search field will be - it usually guesses the first text property in the record.

So, not sure exactly why you are seeing the scenario you are, but hopefully the above will give you some indication as to why it happens, and perhaps some place to start looking.

@Kopiraj , yes, many others are having this problem. Below is my list of links to recent threads reporting this issue. There are multiple reports within at least one of them.

From what I understand, to get Microsoft's attention, posting here is not enough. If you open a Support Case with Microsoft, it should have more sway. I will open my tomorrow morning start of business.

FYI, Microsoft Support acknowledged the bug, and created this work-around: Go into App Settings, and change the Authoring Version of PowerApps:
I'm actually not sure which version is the good one. MS had me set it to the last one in the list, rather than the 'recommended' one, but today I"m back on a 'recommended' one. Perhaps this auto-updates with new releases, and I managed to skip the bad one. They did not provide any guidance on how the authoring version is set.

If you are having the issue, try changing to an older one.
