Hello.

We develope AI powered flows and use AI Builder. Can we share this flow with our Microsoft 365 Business Standard only Licensees without any aditional cost?
The usage of AI Builder Capabilities and the purchase of extrea credits are not clear to us. We are a small company with 14 employees all just having Microsoft 365 Business Standard Licenses.

Thank you for you help, Alexander Schönfeld

    Hi,

Here's a brief summary of the licensing issue.  I hope this helps!

Microsoft 365 Business Standard licenses do not include AI Builder credits or access to premium connectors, which are required to use AI Builder capabilities in Power Automate. Here's an explanation of how AI Builder licensing and costs work and what you need to consider for your scenario:

    1. AI Builder Licensing Overview

AI Builder requires AI Builder credits, which are allocated based on your organization’s Power Platform or Dynamics 365 licenses. These credits are shared at the tenant level and are not tied to individual user licenses.

    Key Points:

    • AI Builder credits are not included with Microsoft 365 Business Standard licenses.
    • To use AI Builder capabilities, you must purchase AI Builder credits separately or have a Power Automate or Dynamics 365 plan that includes these credits.

    Pricing for AI Builder Credits:

    • AI Builder Capacity Add-On:
      • Typically costs $500 per month for 1 million credits.
      • Credits are pooled and shared across all users in the tenant.

    2. Sharing Flows Using AI Builder

You can share flows built with AI Builder capabilities, but the users who run the flow also need to have access to the required AI Builder credits and any premium connectors used in the flow.

    Sharing Considerations:

    • For Microsoft 365 Business Standard Users:
      • They will not be able to run flows using AI Builder unless additional AI Builder credits are purchased for the tenant.
    • Flow Ownership:
      • The flow must run under the context of a user or a service account that has access to AI Builder credits and premium connectors.
