The API operation 'PostItem' requires the property

I have written a power automate flow, that gets the data from Microsoft booking calendar and then writes them into a sharepoint list.
However, when I ruin the flow, I get the following error from the "create item"
The API operation 'PostItem' requires the property 'item/FirstName' to be a string of maximum length '255' but is of length '636'.

In my flow, Get events (V4) , reads each appointment into a variable. And in the Create item, I write this variable contents to the sharepoint list.

1. If there away to make sure that the variable length is 255 or less?
2. Or any other way to fix this. I even made the sharepoint column multiple lines of text and still get the error.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi @don75

Two options, you can use an expression to check the length
@{length(outputs('Compose'))}

OR simple reduce the length of the string using substring:
@{substring(outputs('Compose'),0,5)} //returns the string from char 0 with a length of 5.

Thanks for the response. I removed the create item and added it back. Everything worked perfect.
