Formatting text in Flow from a Sharepoint List Choice Field

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out how to remove unwanted text from an Approvals email. The data is coming from a choice field in a Sharepoint list. This is what I'm getting:

Performance: [{"@odata.type":"#Microsoft.Azure.Connectors.SharePoint.SPListExpandedReference","Id":0,"Value":"NYCB - Tue 7/12 at 7:30pm"},{"@odata.type":"#Microsoft.Azure.Connectors.SharePoint.SPListExpandedReference","Id":1,"Value":"NYCB - Wed 7/13 at 7:30pm"},{"@odata.type":"#Microsoft.Azure.Connectors.SharePoint.SPListExpandedReference","Id":2,"Value":"NYCB - Thu 7/14 at 2pm"},{"@odata.type":"#Microsoft.Azure.Connectors.SharePoint.SPListExpandedReference","Id":6,"Value":"NYCB - Sat 7/17 at 7:30pm"}]

I really want it to just say the values (I am using the "Performance Values" field already)

Performance: NYCB - Tue 7/12 at 7:30pm; NYCB - Wed 7/13 at 7:30pm; NYCB - Thu 7/14 at 2pm; NYCB - Sat 7/17 at 7:30pm

I've been trying to figure this out forever, so thanks in advance!

    Try the following:

The ComposePerformance action contains the Performance data (JSON array):

The Select action selects the Value property:

Then we join the output of the Select action using a semi-colon ';'

or if you would like to enter an expression for the join action, use:

The join action produces the following output:

    NYCB - Tue 7/12 at 7:30pm; NYCB - Wed 7/13 at 7:30pm; NYCB - Thu 7/14 at 2pm; NYCB - Sat 7/17 at 7:30pm

    Hope this helps.

Thank you, Ellis. That worked great!

Sorry, but one rookie question.... how do I now use that output in the email notification? If I use the Performance Date field, it still returns the full array and not the newly created string.

You can select the output from Dynamic content and add it to an email or approval message:

    Example runtime output:

    Hi,

I was thinking that, but I don't have an Output option under Dynamic Content

You can search for the required Output:

I wasn't able to find it in search either, but the overall structure of my flow was wrong.... I had the Approval process at the end. Thanks!
