Setting up external Power Automate Flows for Business Central On-Premises / BC-side settings

Hi everyone,

We are working with Dynamics 365 Business Central On-Premises and want to set up Power Automate flows that access our BC instance.

We understand that On-Premises requires some additional setup compared to BC Online, and we would like to get advice on best practices. Specifically:

  1.

Which BC-side settings are required for Power Automate connectors to work for external cloud flows?

  2.

How should OData / API Pages be configured for external access?

  3.

What user permissions are needed in BC?

  4.

Is SSL / HTTPS mandatory, and what is the recommended configuration?

  5.

How should Azure AD / OAuth be set up for authentication from cloud flows?

  6.

Any common pitfalls or tips when connecting cloud Power Automate to BC On-Premises?

  7.

We’d appreciate any step-by-step instructions, references, or real-world experience from others who have implemented this. Our goal is to enable stable, secure cloud flows that can read/write data from our On-Premises BC environment.

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hi Good Day

I am not an expert in Dynamics 365 Business Central On-Premises. However, to  have a flow to integrate with D365 on-premises, you should have a data gateway installed

    Hi,

Thank you very much for your response. To be more specific, we were already aware of that. In general, I was looking for a more detailed reference or guide. There is very little information available on this topic in forums, and hardly any concrete use cases. I would appreciate it if you could share any additional references.
