I am building a CI/CD Format Assistant in Copilot Studio. The agent should review uploaded posters, banners, roll-ups and screen graphics against stored templates, design guidelines and accepted or rejected reference materials.

The intended process is:

The user selects the type of advertising material.
The agent asks the user to upload a JPG, PNG or PDF file.
The agent analyses the uploaded file.
The agent compares it with the connected knowledge sources.
The agent returns a short assessment with a rating, traffic-light status, deviations and improvement recommendations.

The problem is that the uploaded file does not appear to be recognized. Even after a valid image or PDF has been uploaded, the agent responds as if no file were attached and asks the user to upload it again.

The agent was created mainly through instructions and connected knowledge sources. I have not configured a custom topic or trigger for handling attachments.

Could you please help me with the following questions?

Can a Copilot Studio agent directly access and analyse images or PDF files uploaded by users?
Do I need a topic, action or Power Automate flow to capture and process the attachment?
Is there a specific variable, such as the activity attachments, that must be passed to the agent?
Are image and PDF uploads supported in the Copilot Studio test chat as well as in published channels?
If direct visual analysis is not supported, what would be the recommended Microsoft architecture for this use case?

The “Upload Image” option is already enabled.
