What is the point of the Copilot Studio connector?

Maybe I'm missing something, but what is the point of the Copilot Studio connector for PA? You can call a Copilot that was created in Studio and pass in your query, but all you get back is a conversation ID. You don't get an actual response from Copilot. And there are no other actions that you can perform with that conversation ID. So what's an actual use case?

    Hi  ,

Thank you for choosing Microsoft Community.

    Here's my understanding Copilot connector.

Purpose-Triggers a Copilot conversation from a workflow (e.g., form submission, data change).

Output-Returns a conversation ID, not the Copilot’s actual response.

Use Cases- Launch Copilot with context for user follow-up.

Log or track sessions for analytics or auditing.

Orchestrate multi-step flows around Copilot (e.g., notify, update records).

Limitations-Doesn’t retrieve or interact with Copilot responses directly.

I still see no usefulness for trying to call Copilot Studio from a flow. The link you provided is for using flows from Copilot, not what I'm asking, and I've already studied all that. Sure, if you're doing something from Copilot that needs to call a flow to do something, and then call Copilot back to say "hey, I'm done", then sure. But that's it, and an extremely limited and focused use case. But a Copilot already knows when the flow is finished, so I still don't see value there.

Also, you can't launch a Copilot session from a flow. A flow doesn't in itself allow you to open a browser or another app like Copilot on a user's machine.

There are a few limitations .

You can’t start Copilot on a user’s device from a flow and you can’t capture Copilot’s generated text inside Power Automate.

Bottom line: The connector is integration glue — useful for logging and correlation — but not for direct “flow calls Copilot → get answer” scenarios.

    I hope this helps.
