Hi team,
 
I need to trigger a power automate cloud flow when a user joins in the viva engage using join button. If any solution or work around for this it would be great helpful for me.

    Hi @CU17030218-1,

    I actually ran into a very similar requirement recently, so sharing what I found.

    I was trying to trigger a Power Automate flow when a user joins a Viva Engage (Yammer) community using the Join button, but after exploring different options, I realized that there’s no direct trigger available for this event in Power Automate.

     

    What I discovered

    Viva Engage doesn’t currently expose a trigger like:

    • “When a user joins a community”

    So unfortunately, the flow won’t fire automatically when someone clicks Join.

     

    What worked for me (workaround)

    I ended up using a scheduled flow + Microsoft Graph API, and it worked pretty well.

     

    My approach:

    1. Created a recurrence flow (runs every few minutes/hours)

    2. Used Graph API to get community members:

        GET /groups/{group-id}/members

    3. Stored the previous member list (I used Dataverse)

    4. Compared it with the latest list

    5. Identified new users who joined

    6. Triggered my logic based on that

      It’s not real-time, but it’s reliable

    Hi Sajeda, thanks for your response, but the real issue is am having 50 + communities so challenging is we can't able to create per flow for each community. So can we get the user details  directly if the user joins
