Query Regarding Microsoft Teams Agent Behaviour

Hi Ma'am/Sir,

I would like to check whether the following is expected behaviour or a known limitation of Copilot agents in Microsoft Teams.

During the same conversation (before the chat is restarted), the previous user inputs disappear when scrolling up through the chat history. We would expect the previous inputs to remain visible throughout the active conversation and only be cleared after the chat is restarted.

Could you please confirm whether this is expected behaviour or if there is a configuration or issue that we should investigate?

Thank you.

This is a known Teams rendering behavior for bot conversations, not a Copilot Studio bug.

In Teams, the personal chat with a bot uses a different message rendering path than a standard user-to-user chat. Bot conversations are rendered dynamically and some older messages can appear to disappear when scrolling up, especially if the conversation contains adaptive cards or mixed content types. The messages aren't actually deleted  they exist in the conversation transcript  but Teams' rendering engine doesn't always scroll them back into view reliably.

This is specific to the Teams desktop and mobile clients. Testing in Teams web (teams.microsoft.com) often shows the full history correctly since the web client uses a different rendering pipeline.

To confirm it's a rendering issue and not data loss: check the conversation transcript in Copilot Studio Analytics > Conversations. If the full user inputs appear there, the messages exist and it's a Teams client rendering gap, not lost data.

Raise this through Microsoft Support with the agent ID and specific Teams client version, since Teams bot conversation rendering quality is something the Teams engineering team tracks separately from Copilot Studio.
