Automatic labelling issue

Hi all,

We recently enforced a labelling policy in our organisation to apply to files within SharePoint as well as SharePoint sites themselves.

However I've run into an issue, my assumption was that when creating a site and then applying a sensitivity label to the site, all the files within the site will automatically have the label that is set for the site applied to them.

What I'm now starting to understand is that the site label set for the SharePoint site, is for the site only not the files within, and that labels for the files within will have to be set manually.

Is it possible to automate labelling for content which derives from the label set for the site using PowerAutomate/MS Graph or MS Syntex? So for example, I create a site with 'confidential' label applied and then all documents within the library of the site going forward, will automatically inherit the label that the site level is set to?
