Hi everyone,
We recently encountered an issue with one of our Power Automate flows that is used to send monitoring alerts from Grafana/Alertmanager to a Microsoft Teams channel.
The flow experienced multiple failed runs for several hours, which resulted in alert notifications not being delivered to Teams.
During our investigation, we confirmed:
Grafana was generating alerts successfully.
Alertmanager was receiving and routing alerts correctly.
The Power Automate flow had multiple failed runs in the Run History.
After editing the flow and performing a manual test, the flow started working again and new alerts were delivered successfully.
The part that concerns us is that we never received any email notification informing us that the flow had failed, even though there were multiple consecutive failed runs.
Previously, we used to receive emails similar to:
"1 of your flow(s) have failed"
with the flow name and failure count.
This time, despite several failed executions, no failure notification email was sent to the flow owner.
Questions
Has Microsoft changed or deprecated the automatic flow failure notification emails?
Are there any tenant, environment, or flow-level settings that control these email notifications?
Is there a known issue where flow failure notification emails are not generated?
Is there a recommended way to proactively monitor Power Automate flow failures other than relying on these emails?
This is a concern because if a similar issue occurs in our production environment, we may not be aware that alert notifications have stopped unless someone manually checks the flow run history.
Any guidance or recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!
