Excel writing into column B even though I explicitly say column A

Hello,

So I have to write this horizontal line of data into excel. I am pulling the data from a website and then get first free column/row step to know where to write the data. Here is a screenshot of the steps, ignore the disabled steps I was trying different things.

You can see above on step 42 I specifically tell it column A on the first free row. However it keeps starting off on column B :

Any help here would be appreciated.
I have the same question (0)

Could it be that your %CurrentItem% has two columns in it? One empty and then one that has the text "Total"? Then it would be logical that it writes the first column value to the A column and then the second column value to the B column. Try chaging the Write to Excel worksheet -actions %CurrentItem% to be %CurrentItem[1]% so that it writes only the second column value.
    Like so:

No it had one column. It would have helped if I looked at the data. For some reason the extract web data is adding an extra blank before total :
I tried redoing it but that didn't help, I just have to figure out how to remove that first one or start at 1 and not 0 :(

I have no idea how to normally get it to skip the first one, or just not have that first one as part of the data extract, so I just did this dumb loop condition with a variable to get it to skip the blank spot and it works

Good to hear you found out what the issue was.

You could use "Delete row from data table" -action and just delete the first row. And if you want to make sure that it only deletes the first row if its empty then add If condition to check if that first rows column is empty

Or if all the empty rows are useless then you can just use "Delete empty rows from data table" -action to remove all the empty rows.

Oh man that was way more practical, I don't know why I didn't see that. I was trying to delete from List and I think that's where I was confused, that was silly. Thanks much!
