Hi everyone,

I’m working on a solution where I need a Power Automate Cloud Flow to dynamically trigger a Power Automate Desktop (PAD) Flow that runs on the machine of the user who initiated the Cloud Flow.
Currently, I’m able to successfully call the desktop flow on my own machine by setting the connection to use my credentials. However, my goal is to allow this functionality for any user dynamically—provided we have their machine credentials or the necessary connection settings.

What I have achieved so far:
  • Cloud Flow successfully calls PAD Flow using my machine credentials.

What I need to achieve:
  • Enable the Cloud Flow to trigger the PAD Flow on any user’s machine dynamically when they initiate the Cloud Flow.
  • Ensure that the flow uses the correct connection/credentials for the invoking user’s machine.
  • Need the desktop flow to run on any users PC and perform automations with minimal local setups in prior
Has anyone implemented a similar solution? Is there a way to dynamically switch the connection or authenticate the PAD Flow based on the initiating user? Any guidance or best practices would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

By any user I mean that the user who has queried for some action to be done in his desktop. He would have given his approval for the same before the flow runs. Consider the bot as your IT admin who access your desktop to install certain software or do manual fixes. This bot would perform similar actions

This is questionably dangerous. It would be surprising that your security team would approve this.
