Microsoft Forms - Limiting the Number of Responses

I need to automate the closing of a Microsoft Form once a set number of responses have been received. I Googled a solution, and was following the steps when I hit one that didn't match what I was seeing.

  1. When a new response is submitted (linked to the proper form)
  2. Initialize Variable - Name "MaxResponse", type Integer, Value 50
  3. Get Response Details - Selected proper form and selected "Response Id" in the second dropdown (to count the responses)
  4. Added a Condition - When "Response Id" is greater than or equal to "MaxResponse
  5. Under "If Yes" the instructions say to add a "change form" response and set the form to closed - but I'm not seeing that available as an action.

    Hi ,

I don't think there are any power automate actions that let you change a form. The only way to do this is via the forms api which can be called from your flow.

You can read this article for more details on setting this up:
Disable Microsoft Forms via Power Automate - DamoBird365

Just a note, the "Send an HTTP request to SharePoint" mentioned in the article no longer works with Microsoft Forms API so you will need to use the "HTTP" or "Invoke HTTP request". There are more details on this in the comments of that article.

    Thank you
