Expand combobox when there are multiple selections

I have a combobox in EditForm. When i open the EditForm Combobox, it shows 6 items instead of actual selected items. May i know how render the actual selected items instead of generic label "6 items".

    This is default behavior of the combo box control you cannot expand what are the values which you have selected to display in the combo box.
     
    Approach 1:
     
    Replace the combo box control with the checkbox control - https://www.matthewdevaney.com/power-apps-multiple-selection-checkbox/
     
    Approach 2:
     
    Add a label control below in the combo- box and provide this formula and set visible property if combobox has items
     
    Concat(ComboBox3.SelectedItems,Value," ; ")

    Good question - here is what the documentation supports.

    Why you see "6 items"

    The documented properties for the combo box control are Items, DefaultSelectedItems, SelectedItems, Selected, SelectMultiple, IsSearchable, SearchFields, DisplayFields and InputTextPlaceholder. None of them controls the collapsed selection summary, so there is no supported property that expands the selected values inside the control itself.

    Practical options

    • Place a Label next to the combo box and set its Text to: Concat( ComboBox1.SelectedItems, ThisRecord.Value, ", " ) - this lists every selection in full.
    • Set DisplayFields to show more than one column, for example ["MyFirstColumn","MySecondColumn"], so each item is more descriptive.
    • If multi-select is not actually required, set SelectMultiple = false to get the simple drop-down behaviour described under "Simulate simple drop-down behavior".

    One limitation to know about

    Per the Limitations section, a combo box placed inside a scrolling gallery does not maintain its selections when the user scrolls, and there is currently no workaround for that.
