We want to purchase Hosted License in Power automate environment.

Would like to understand what is the default RAM size provided after Hosted Machine Licenses in Custom Image. Can it be extended if the RAM size is less ?

    Hi @Hema_Malladi,

The default RAM size provided with a Hosted Machine License in a Power Automate environment (using a custom image) is not publicly documented in detail by Microsoft. But it's around 4GB.

Typically, the hosted machines come with a standard configuration sufficient for most automation tasks, but exact RAM size specifics are not explicitly stated in official licensing or product documentation.

I am sure some clues I tried to give. If these clues help to resolve the issue brought you by here, please don't forget to check the box Does this answer your question? At the same time, I am pretty sure you have liked the response!

The Microsoft Power Automate Hosted Process license provides a virtual machine with a default of 16 GB of RAM and 4 vCores.

    Key Specifications for Hosted Machines
When you use a Microsoft-hosted machine (including those using a custom image), the following default hardware is provisioned for each hosted bot:
    RAM: 16 GB.
    Processor: 4 vCores.
Storage: 256 GB SSD (automatically adjusted from a 64 GB base for custom images).
Operating System: Windows 10 or 11 Enterprise (Generation 2 images required for custom builds).

Can the RAM size be extended?
Currently, you cannot manually extend the RAM or CPU of a single hosted machine beyond these standard specifications through the Power Automate portal. The hardware is fixed per "Hosted Process" capacity unit.

However, you can manage performance for larger workloads in the following ways:
Hosted Machine Groups: Instead of increasing the RAM of one machine, you can create a Hosted Machine Group. This allows you to scale by adding more bots (Hosted Process licenses) to the group, which enables multiple machines to run your processes in parallel, effectively increasing your total environment capacity.
Custom Image Optimization: While you can't change the underlying hardware, you can use the Azure Compute Gallery to provide a custom VM image. This ensures that your specific applications and configurations are pre-installed, though the VM itself will still run on the standard 4 vCore / 16 GB RAM hardware provided by the license.
