Editing Flow Creates New Connection Reference

I am facing a strange scenario whereby when I edit a flow a new connection reference to dataverse or outlook is created automatically. i already have connection references set up so this is causing me a great deal of irritation and confusion. Does anyone know why this might be happening? Or if this is a known issue that can occur?

Thanks

Remove all connections, try to Use connection references consistently across your flows, especially in solutions.

Note: Check your environment’s connections and remove duplicates or unused connections.

This happens because Power Automate cannot match your existing connection reference with the action being edited, so it automatically creates a new one.

    To fix:
    • Edit flows only inside solutions
    • Ensure all actions use the same existing connection reference
    • Standardize connections and remove duplicates
