Agent Not Reflecting Updates In MS Teams

Hi everyone,

I’m running into an issue with my agent. When I make changes and test them using the “Test your agent” chat, everything works as expected. However, after publishing the agent and updating it in MS Teams, it still behaves like an older version even when I send the same message I used in the test chat.

Some of these changes were made over two days ago, and I’ve re-published and updated the agent in Teams multiple times since. I also tried clearing the Teams cache, but the problem persists.

Has anyone experienced this or know a solution?

yes it's a common problem to have random update on agent.

Temporary give the share link to the user , it will open the install windows and propose "update" instead of the "install buton" they had at the first time.

in a near futur you will have an option to force update :)  (ATM in test early access preview)

yes, it's a common issue as @Romain The Low-Code Bearded Bear mentioned.

    Additional suggestions:
    • Try sending “Start Over” a couple of times.
    • Ensure your custom topic is configured with either:
      • End current topic, or End all topics
    • This ensures the conversation restarts with the latest logic and avoids old topic context interfering.
I hope this information helps! If it does, please consider giving a 👍.

I'm currently testing this agent on my Teams. I used the share link, and did indeed click the "update button". However, the Conversation Start topic that I made a modification to, still reflects an older version of the agent.

@ES-14112111-0 ok you could try something else, in teams in the web browser (not the one on the computer), go in the agent conversation ; right click to remove history of the conversation, it will remove the agent from the chat tab, then go the "..." on the left corner bottom, you have you'r application, (not in the app tab) , find the agent, right click you will "uninstall" (uninstall is not in the desktop version): it will uninstall.

Go the agent, publish again. Take the new link (link change after each publication), then use the link to re install it, now it will be probably ok :)

    i hope this help :)

This is 'Session State Challenge' as described in this article https://microsoft.github.io/mcscatblog/posts/copilot-studio-teams-deployment-ux/
you can resolve the problem by incorporating the best practices mentioned in this article.

    Hi all,

I followed the link @S-Venkadesh had posted, and found that typing "/debug clearstate" in the chat with the agent, resets the conversation. This fixed the issue of it performing out of date responses.
