Load and map data into dynamics 365 CRM with dataflows

Hi,
I have a scenario to use standard dataflow to pull in source data from excel workbook on onedrive with an existing/new data and load and map it to (productnumber) column on the product table in Dataverse. Any tips/suggestion on how to achieve this? Should the dataflow be created in the target environment? Thanks

    Hi @007Sol

There are ways to import data into Dataverse (Dynamics DB), a simple way is to use Excel templates and you can use the system's data import/export tool itself.

The other way is to use Dataflow, which is also very powerful and can help you when you have high volumes of data and your templates do not have the DB format, but you must be careful with the data types for it to work correctly.

The documentation indicates some recommendations when you use Excel

    Hi @Jmanriquerios

Thanks for the pointers, though in this scenario I appear to have the data type as #Autonumber and Autonumber type: Custom. Will this any impact in terms of the import to work correctly if the data type was changed?

    Hi @007Sol

If you have an autonumber field not built in Dataverse, you can place it as a string, and then establish the mechanism for how to follow the numbering in the application
