Toggle not functioning correctly

Hi,

I'm quit new on Power Apps, therefore this might be a question for absolute beginners 😊

I made a entry form to enter data into an Excel sheet on OneDrive. One of the fields is TRUE/FALSE field for which a toggle is used. This is functioning almost wel ... the data is stored correctly in the sheet. But .... when I want to edit a specific record for which the value is set to TRUE, the toggle is in edit mode by default on OFF (this means FALSE in the sheet). So this toggle is not functioning well in my opinion. In edit mode the toggle should be on OFF when the value in the sheet is on FALSE and on ON when the value in the sheet is on TRUE.

What I'm doing wrong?

Kine regards,

Gert

    Hi @gdamstra ,

What is the Default of the toggle control?

    Hi Warren,

The default is blank, this property is not set (yet)

    Hi @gdamstra ,

That is why it is showing false. I assume this is in a card on the form?

It needs to be (change to your field name).

    ThisItem.YourFieldName.Value

You will also need to look at the Update property of the DataCard if you want to change it in the edit form.

Please click Accept as solution if my post helped you solve your issue. This will help others find it more readily. It also closes the item. If the content was useful in other ways, please consider giving it Thumbs Up.

I have a datacard with a label and a toggle. I also added a textinput to check the value stored in the sheet. For the textinput it is working correct. The default value is Parent.Default. That's all what has been changed on this object.

The toggle has a value Parent.Default for OnChange and Parent.Default for Default. For last one a exclamation mark is shown ...

For the Card, some properties are set and/ or has bene changed. Default is now ThisItem.field_name, Update = Toggle2.Value.

    Thanks @gdamstra ,

I will be offline shortly due to timezone - I will pick up your response in the morning (about 8 hours).

In the meantime firstly, I assume the field type of the card is in is a Yes/No in SharePoint? See comment below.

When you say you have added a Text Input to the card, is this a Label and I assume it shows true/false?

Now for the rest of it

The toggle has a value Parent.Default for OnChange

You do not need anything OnChange unless you are triggering an another action from it - suggest you delete this as this setting does nothing (may even be an issue)

Parent.Default for Default. For last one a exclamation mark is shown ...

What is the error shown here? It sounds like it may be a different field type

For the Card, some properties are set and/ or has been changed.

    Default is now ThisItem.field_name,

    No issues here

    Update = Toggle2.Value.

Should work if Yes/No field in the List

    Hi Warren,

In the meanwhile ... problem solved! Thanks for input, there was an issue with the translation from true / false to Yes / No which I made on another object related to this one. I have delete all objects relating to this issue and recreated them. With your info I got it working!

    Thanks!

    Gert

    Hi @gdamstra Gert,

I actually suspected that was the issue - just had to go through the elimination process.
