New Arriving Email Checks Excel Spreadsheet To See If It Exists, Then Reroutes

I'm having trouble setting up a Power Automate flow where when a new email comes in that it will check a specific column named "Email" in a specific excel spreadsheet in my OneDrive to see if the sender's email exist in that list. If it does it would reroute the email to a specific folder.

I thought I needed to do a filter query but it doesn't seem to work.

Any able to assist with the step-by-step process as I am not well versed in the coding process.

Could you explain in a little more detail what it is youre trying to achieve? When you say "... reroute the email to a specific folder." are you looking to sort incoming emails into specific folders in your outlook account?

What I want is if an email comes from a specific email address within a list of emails in an excel spreadsheet to be rerouted from the inbox to a specific subfolder within my Microsoft Outlook.

    Is this possible?

Hi @Cchurchoptimum have you looked into using Rules in outlook? Set Up rules in Outlook and Manage email messages by using rules in Outlook should be a good place to start. If your list isnt too extensive than you can set up rules to move emails from specified senders or addresses to a specific folder you have created in your outlook account.

The issue is that Microsoft Outlook Rules have a size limit before they stop running them on your computer. Depending on the amount of rules and their complexity, you can reach that limit really fast.

So my alternative now is to use Power Automate to achieve the same goal. Is there any way to do this and is it 100% effective?

Hi @Cchurchoptimum understood, I think it should be possible, you can have the flow trigger when an email is received in your inbox and if you have an action that reads from the excel file you can then have different conditions to set the folder you wish to move the email to. I would take a look at the following documentation:
Heres an article I found that may also help: https://manueltgomes.com/microsoft/move-email-action/
