Unable to fetch the data from CDS into Power BI as Perspectives are missing

Team,

We are unable to fetch the entities data from the CDS into Power BI as there is no option to add perspectives in the Power Apps studio.

Initially, we did add perspectives and then the entities were visible in the Power Apps studio. But, now there is no option to add perspectives at all, and hence we are not able to pull any reports in Power BI from the CDS entities.

Kindly suggest us any alternative atleast here to pull the entities data into Power BI reports.

Hi,

Could you please explain a bit for " there is no option to add perspectives in the Power Apps studio."?

If you mean Add data source, then please go to:

View->Data Sources Common Data Service:

Click the Add data source, find the Common Data Service, then you should be able to select the entity from the list and add it into PowerApps.

Many thanks for the reply.

What i meant by perspectives was that, actually for the Common Data Source Entities to be visible in the Power BI data sources, then the perspectives had to be created for sure, only then the entities were visible in the Power BI data sources.

Previously, like a month back we were able to add a perspective for a respective Entity in the CDS and hence it was visible in the Power BI data sources, but now we created couple of two new entities and there is no option to create perspectives. Below is the screenshot where pespectives were there, but they wont exist. I want the entities of the CDS to be visible in the Power BI. Kindly let me know even if you have any alternative to this.

Hi @shivareddy545 - thanks for reaching out. Can you confirm when you deployed your environment? And if you have ever been able to create perspectives in this specific environment?

The PowerBI functionality was in preview, and is not enabled in all environments.

If you've deployed your environment after 3/21, your environment will be on the latest version - in the coming weeks we will be releasing a new PowerBI connector for these environments.
