Published SharePoint Custom List form not loading

Hi, I am working in a client tenant and have just created a new SharePoint list and customised the form in PowerApps. I've been doing that for at least 7 years, so I know my way around.

Problem is, the list is still opening the built-in SharePoint default form. What I have tried:

- waiting. I started the form 24 hours ago, so it should work

- starting the form as a stand-alone app from the link in PowerApps studio. The form loads fine, just not from the list interface

- logged out and logged back in

- cleared all cookies

- used a different browser (Chrome) instead of Edge

- toggled the List Form options in the list settings to SharePoint and back to PowerApps

Nothing works for showing the form. Only the regular SharePoint form shows. But when I click Integrate > Power Apps > Customize forms, the customised form loads in PowerApps.

I also created a brand new SharePoint site, created a new list with three fields, customised the form with PowerApps. Here, the customised form works.

The client has Nintex forms enabled for the first site.

Does the Nintext feature collide with PowerApps, even when it is not used in a list?

Did you get this figured out? I'm having the same issue. Seems to only happen when I make a copy of an existing list, and then create/publish a Power Apps form on that new list.

Hi TrayH, I couldn't get it to work in the existing site. I created a new site and migrated the list with ShareGate, then customised the form, but it still didn't work. I finally created a new list from scratch and customised the form. That then eventually  showed up.

In another list in a site without Nintex features enabled, I also could not get the custom PowerApps form for the SharePoint list to show. Here, I went into the list settings, Form settings, turned the PowerApps form off, reloaded the page, then turned the PowerApps form on again. After a bit of tinkering and lots of reloads, it finally appeared.

best of luck with your form.

I actually found a resolution that I stumbled across.  I updated my own thread but forgot to come back and comment here.

Same situation as you, I had migrated the list with ShareGate and then was unable to get a Powerapps form to load. To fix it I did the following:

    1. Go to my list settings and created a new column. I don’t think the type matters, but I did single line of text.

    2. Edit the powerapps form and add this new field to the form

    3. Publish the form

Once that was done the Powerapps form loads when creating new items on the list. I haven’t yet tried removing the new field from the form, but you can always just set the visibility to false if needed.

Let me know if it works for you next time.

This worked for me as well! I've been struggling for 2 days, and ended up deleting my form and recreating it which surprisingly enough didn't work! Then I also added a single line of text column, added it to the form, and now the form shows up again.

    Glad it worked for you!
