Unable to share co-owner rights of 2 apps with security group

Hi guys,

I've been trying to find a cause for this, without any luck.

Ik have about 15-20 Canvas apps succesfully shared with co-owner permissions to a AD-group.

However, I have two apps where I seem to only be able to share it with that group as a User and not Co-owner (See images for clarification).

Here you can see the PowerPlatform_beheer group has co-owner rights on this app.

Hence my confusion where is seems to be greyed out without any notification.

All datasources used in this app are SharePoint, while other apps also use Flows, SQL-Server and other connectors.

Any ideas?

Regards,

I have the same question (0)

    Hello @PVosEska,

Are you yourself the owner of all the apps you are trying to share?

Are they in the same environment?

    Hi @joe_hannes_col ,

Indeed, I am the Owner of all the apps I want to share, or I would not be able to share them at all I believe.

The only Co-owner is the one group mentioned.

Every app exist in our production environment, this is the only place we share apps with larger audiences.

    Thanks for the clarification, @PVosEska.

Are the two apps you are having trouble with part of a solution? In this case you cannot assign co-owners: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/share-app#share-an-app

And btw, you can also share an app if you are a co-owner 🙂

    No problem @joe_hannes_col,

They are seperately created apps that do not exist in a solution. In no way do they seem to be any different than other apps where adding the group as co-owner WAS possible.

I now tried to export/import the app as a new Power App and it seems I can add the group as Co-owner to this new app now.

Strange it just seems to be these two existing apps that cause the problem.

Hello @PVosEska, strange. Glad you got it working through importing/exporting the apps though.

Do you know why this is? (and thank you for the link, I spent 3 days testing to find why a solution app behaves differently)

Is there no way to share ownership of a solution? Or is the intent to just have it shared via an external repo after export?

    PowerShell and

Set-AdminPowerAppRoleAssignment -AppName $AppName -EnvironmentName $EnvironmentName -PrincipalType Group -PrincipalObjectId $NewAppCoOwner -RoleName CanEdit
