i have been told to use a service account.

So after starting to build an app under this account.

I can no longer get the current user correctly ?

User().FullName  will not work anymore.

Is there another way to automatically get the username and email address ?

    Hi @DAVIDPOWELL1

    I use a Service Account fairly widely - the email will be the Service Account's email as it is the user logged in.

    Power Apps has no idea who it belongs to - it is simply another user with a licence. The account is good for transferring apps and flows - you only need to pass on the password.

    However anyone else using the app will still get their user details as normal.

    @WarrenBelz

    Can you provide more details about the benefits of using a Service Account for building Power Apps?

    I'm trying to determine if there is a way to have a front-end canvas app for the user to interact with, and then have the Service Account interact with the CDS? Would that require two apps for one business scenario?

    I work for a non-profit and trying to keep costs to a minimum and struggling to devise the right solution.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi @Anonymous ,

    Your front-end app would still need to interact with a data source  (SharePoint would be best) for the E3 licence holders. You would then need some sort of sync Flow and I am not sure what benefit CDS would then be over SharePoint anyway, but that is something for your model.
