Hi,

When exporting our solution from PowerApps Online containing canvas apps using a component library we noticed that the file name of the component library is trimmed in the zip file that is created and downloaded from PowerApps Online.

Original name:

fdw_apteanqualitycheckforfoodandbeveragelibrary_5af7b_DocumentUri.msapp

Name in export:

fdw_apteanqualitycheckforfoodandbeveragelibrary_5a_DocumentUri.msapp
 
We're using the CRM toolkit v9.1.0.80 (solution packager) to extract the zip file and commit the extract to our Azure DevOps repository, because the file name is trimmed we now get the error message:
  
Component files in D:\QCL\export\QualityCheck_1_0_0_0.zip\CanvasApps for canvas app fdw_apteanqualitycheckforfoodandbeveragelibrary_5af7b doesn't match with its name.
 
Because of this we're unable to commit, build and deploy our solution by using the PowerApps ALM toolkit.
 
Is this a bug and should the name not be trimmed because we can set it in PowerApps Online or please advice how to fix this, changing the name of the Component Library isn't possible.
 
Note: we also think the same issue applies to Canvas App when the app name is too long.

I dunno. I would be really, really surprised if there was a bug of some kind that was dropping characters from the interior of a string because of length. I mean, that is just bizarre.

Have you double-checked your mappings in the solution packager xml? Maybe you just have a typo in there where somebody put in 5a instead of 5af7b when mapping the file over to a different location.

We have this problem in several solutions where the name is trimmed to 60 characters after export from PowerApps online. The component libraries in case are created in PowerApps Online and never have been exported before. We even created a new canvas app with a long name and after export from PowerApps Online this is also showing the same problem.

In the meantime we deep dived into the new PASopa tool and unpacked our Component Libraries and Canvas Apps into code to be able to shorten the name and library references in our Canvas Apps quickly.
This solved the problem for us but I think the name length issue should still get some attention.
