Hi Experts,

I have two SharePoint List Asset Manager and Asset History.

Asset Manager

  • Asset Tag
  • Manufacturer
  • Model
  • Purchase date
  • Status

Asset History

  • Asset Tag (Lookup Column in SharePoint on the Asset Manager list to Asset Tag)
  • Assigned To
  • Assigned on

The Asset Tag in the Asset History is a lookup column to Asset Manager and all the below could be for one asset

I have developed the app based on Asset Manger and of course the Asset History is added as a data source. When viewing a Record from the Asset Manager, i have a view from Asset History and i want to show who is the last person owing the respective asset in that box based on the Assigned on date in Asset History since the asset History can have multiple records and i dont know how to write the filter.

I have the same situation while updating the record too, i have one grid which has the status driven from the Asset Manager and another grid with "to be" updated values of the new person it might go to in the Asset History.

Or please let me know if the way i have designed my SharePoint list itself needs to be modified. Please help, thanks in advance for your response.

    Hi @Davy1 ,

    If you want the Assigned To field on the newest record matching your filter

    Lookup(
     Sort(
     'Asset History',
     ID,
     Descending
     ),
     'Asset Tag'.Value = BrowseGallery1.Selected.'Asset Tag'
    ).'Assigned To'

    @WarrenBelz thanks for your help and response, it helped me. I changed my datacard into a normal label and used the below formula, based on your formula.

    LookUp(Sort('Asset History','Assigned on',Descending),'Asset Tag'.Value=BrowseGallery1.Selected.'Asset Tag').'Assigned to'.DisplayName

    @Davy1 ,

    Yes - if that is a Person field (which was not evident in your post), you need that property.
