In a Canvas App is it possible to get a users Business Unit, Team etc... into the app?

For example if someone is in the "CorporationOne" business unit, can I get that information as a variable or part of a collection in the app?

    Hi @lee-martin

    What do you mean by "Business Unit"? If you want to save user's Department you can use the following code:

    Set(varDepartment,First(Office365Users.SearchUserV2({searchTerm:"benjamin@golders.ch"}).value).Department)

    King regards

    @bengo83  -Thank you, but I'm asking about Business Units not the department.

    In power apps admin, You can define Access through Security Roles, Teams, Users, and Business Units.

    I want to be able to access those.

    Hi @lee-martin

    Ok, sorry... i know what you mean now 🙂

    I think with the following code you can read out the bussiness unit from the current user of the app:

    LookUp(Users,'Full Name'=User().FullName).'Business Unit'.Name

    Users is a dataverse table where you need to add that the code works and for which you need a Powerapps premium licence.

    I hope it helps you

    King regards

    Beny

    @bengo83  - thanks, but we're not using dataverse

    Hi @lee-martin

    Does this mean, that you do not have premium licences? I don't think it would be possible to solve the problem in this case.

    King regards

    @bengo83

    We have premier licenses. We are using SQL Server as our datasource

    Hi @lee-martin

    With premium licenses you can use the data table I recommend.

    @bengo83

    So whatever we set in powerplatform admin - it will be in there?

    Hi @lee-martin

    I think you can find most of the informations in the dataverse (in different tables).

    Best Regards

    Beny
