MS Access and Comparable PowerApp

I've posted my issue in more detail under "Creating Apps" , but I'm not getting a reply.  This is probably because I'm still in the beginning stages of my research and I don't know exactly what to ask.

Quick Question:  At my current job, we use MS Access to track our commisions/sales, as well as create invoices and generate various reports.  Each record contains such info as name, shipping/billing address, sales person, invoice number, items sold, and commission.  My job is to find a replacement for MS Access that can be accessed from Azure.  Is there a current PowerApp that can perform these functions?  I just need some direction, please!

Thanks

    Hi @musmin2415,

The diverence between your MS Access application and PowerApps is that MS Access contains both the database as the application. In case of PowerApps Canvas apps you can select from a whole range of data source to store your data.

In this case I would look at PowerApps Model driven apps. What you describe are complex business processes around data. Power Apps Model Driven Apps are better for scenario's like that. You model your data using Common Data Service and built your model driven app with things like business proces flows on top of that.

You could also add PowerApps Canvas apps for specific tasks or roles on top of the Common Data Service data base you use.

I do not think there a out of the box templates for this scenario, since Microsoft offers functionality like that in the Dynamics Suite.

I have helped several people move from Access Web Apps to PowerApps Canvas Apps. For most of them we use Azure SQL Database as a Service. I am highly confident you will find PowerApps to be the correct answer to your question what to use.

    Hi @musmin2415,

I have made a response within the previous thread that posted, please check the the following thread:

I agree with @Shanescows's thought almost. PowerApps provides a lot of connectors for you, you could create a connection to them (e.g. Azure SQL Data Base) as a data source within your app, then you access the Azure SQL Data base within your PowerApps app.

More details about connectors supported within PowerApps, please check the following article:

    Connectors supported in PowerApps

I think the canvas app within PowerApps could achieve your needs, please check the following article for more details:

    Create canvas app within PowerApps

    Best regards,

    Kris
