Custom SharePoint form - double scrollbar

(0) ShareShare

Posted on by

Hi all,

I'm facing an issue with all of my custom forms. They've work well until some recent update from Microsoft and now I have a double vertical scrollbar on all of my forms as well as horizontal scrollbar. I can't figure out why.

I'm using the following custom landscape layout, which worked well until now:

Forms are following the same setup:

So obviously I need to have one scrollbar to see DataCards in the lower position, but I don't know what has changed that I have the doubled scrollbar and horizontal one as well.

I'm using Edge - our default company web browser. If I change the page zoom to 90%, both issues are fixed.

Any thoughts?

Hi @xsomej33 , Can you share the screenshot of form if possible? The child controls of your form should have height and width based upon the parent height and width.

Please check Set width and height section from this article https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-apps/maker/canvas-apps/working-with-form-layout#set-width-and-height

    Hi @ANB,

    Here is how it looks:

    xsomej33_0-1695711426899.png

I need to scroll to the right first for the inner scrollbar to appear. If I set the page zoom to 90%, it's gone. But it's on all of my forms with this setup, so there must have been some update from MS.

Hi @xsomej33 , I am not sure which control you are using for which the outer scroll is appearing. Is it vertical container or canvas control?

The inner scroll is coming from your main form for sure. So, did you got chance to check the above article in my previous response which talks about setting the up the height and width of your child control which would be datacard to its parent which is main form?

    Thanks,

    ANB

Yes, I had a look @ANB - and I think I'm following the correct setup. I'm using Canvas control.
All DataCards are placed correctly - see screenshot below.

    xsomej33_0-1695714478027.png

Or do I need to leave the space for the scrollbar?

@xsomej33 If you have too many datacard and if the scroll is going to come up, then yes you need leave the space for scroll.

What is Height and width of datacard Status

    Thanks,

    ANB

Hi @xsomej33 , Yes that is what i was saying. The height and width of your data card should be dynamic and in screenshot it is hardcode (static). That is the reason this is all causing. For example: If you see below screenshot of my form then I have 3 columns and the width and height of first datacard is set as below:

    Width :

    ANB_0-1695722139291.png

    Parent.Width*0.33

    Height

    ANB_1-1695722252999.png

    Sum(
     ErrorMessage9.Height,
     DataCardValue10.Height,
     DataCardKey10.Height
    )

So basically you need to set up the height and width of your child control which would be datacard to its parent which is main form.

If you still faces issues then I would request you to get in touch with MS Support team to further help you.

This is still not working, even after I set all DataCards width to be flexible.

Could it be because of the banner I have at the top of the form?

The form starts below it, but it was working well until a few days ago, that's why I'm confused on why it's now broken on all of my forms.

Hi @xsomej33 , With the screenshot that you have provided, it is even difficult for me to provide any further suggestion. I would suggest you to wait for few hours, if someone from community response on this, if not then I would suggest you to create MS Support ticket for further resolution.

    Thanks,

    ANB

Hi @ANB, so I've finally managed to fix this - it was caused by the rounded corners that Edge pushed. Once I've
disabled this option in Edge settings, it started working properly again.
