Good morning everyone. I have a parts catalog in a sharepoint list, where some of the items have attachments that show as images. That is all working correctly. I am trying to figure out a way to have the manager of the app add attachments to an existing record without me having to add it directly to the sharepoint list, which also works correctly. I have searched high and low and not found anything that works. Daves video, here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZtOVvbj9qw) touches on it at the end, but says will save it for another video. Heres a screen shot of my app screen. Any help would be great.
Thank you!
Hi @Anonymous ,
Can you please explain in a bit more detail what it is that is not working - the user can attach files with an attachment control and then view them in a gallery - what else do you want them to do?
Hi @WarrenBelz . So we are only able to upload an image when the record is created. That portion/form is working perfectly. I don’t know how to upload an image once the record is already created. I have a few hundred parts that need photos.
thanks!
chris
You simply need the Form in Edit mode and you can attach whatever you want.

Hi @WarrenBelz thanks for the quick responses! Sounds like I am not being clear. The form works perfectly for adding part and part information as well as an image as an attachment. I’m looking to add attachments to parts that have already been uploaded to share point list. I just tried changing the current form I have into edit than typing all the information in as it is in the list, but it added a record and did not edit it.
@Anonymous ,
You are being perfectly clear - this is a fundamental function of Power Apps. Do you know how to configure an edit form? You need to select the required record (generally from a gallery) and then use EditForm(YourFormName) with the Item of the Form something like
LookUp( YourListName, ID = YourGalleryName.Selected.ID )
When you submit the form, it will update the existing record including the attachment. Also here is the Microsoft reference document.
I am ashamed to say I didn’t even think of edit form!! Once it clicked in my mind I understood and have already used it to add a few pics successfully! Thank you so much for your help! I owe you a beer!
No problems @Anonymous ,
As you can understand, I often have no idea of a user's experience level and therefore tend to post at an elemental level if in doubt.
