Inserting the date form was submitted

HI guys, a quick one which has got me baffled. I am wanting to record the date a form is submitted. I have got my date picker and was adding a value into the default date as "Today()" this is what I had seen on a video and this seemed to work, got rid of the error boxes I was getting.

Only now a few days later I looked at the SP list and the dates still  have the value "Today" in them.

I have the same question (0)

Hi @nshaw75 when assigning the date are you using "" as it should just be Today() without the ""?

    hey @nshaw75

if you want to keep track of when the entry in the list was made you do not have to configure anything. When you create a list in sharepoint there are a few columns that will be created by default. One of the columns is the created column. It will be populated automatically from sharepoint without you doing anything. Same as created by, modified and modifies by column.

@mmbr1606 Thank you so much as this is my usual fault, I miss the obvious, or try and over think things.

    Hi @AndrewR1

Thanks you yes, the formula was only in brackets for the forum,. I suppose its show's how much I am more of a writer than a scripter 😃

I was getting confused as not long after I posted, the dates changed so I am assuming that they are linked to a time zone which is a fair few hours in front of GMT. With me based in the UK and getting up early this definitely threw me off.
    Thanks again for the reply
