Model Driven App Visual Studio Report Project

Has anyone been able to connect to the environment via a Visual Studio report project?

I have VS 2017 & Dynamics 365 Report Authoring extension installed.  I get the url from my model app (https://orgxxxxx.crm.dynamics.com/) but I can't connect.  I have assigned myself all security roles.  Perhaps I need to use a different connection string?

Error : You don't have permission to access any of the organizations in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online region that you specified. If you're not sure which region your organization resides in, choose "Don't know" for the CRM region and try again. Otherwise check with your CRM administrator.

Which region is the tenant in ? crm.dynamics.com only applies to North America (public, i.e. non-Government), so if you are in a different region you need the region-specific url - e.g. crm4.dynamics.com for EMEA. See https://www.xrmcoaches.com/2017/05/current-list-of-dynamics-crm-online-regions/ for the urls

    Hi,

Please take a look at David's suggestion above, this simply appears that Visual Studio is trying to connect to a different region then you are located in. This should be able to be adjusted to the correct region.

    Regards,

    Alex

    I figured out the issue.

I was using my own credentials and I'm on MFA.  I tried with an account not on MFA, and had no issue.

It seems VS struggles with MFA authentication.  I can turn off 'advanced settings' and get the MFA prompt, but it just puts me into a sign in loop.
