Upon clicking save in my Powerapp I need the form then to directly save to the dataverse. How can I do this?

Please try to set the form mode to 'new form' mode and use function 'SubmitForm()'.

Forms is the default approach as defined above. If you are looking for another option where you can control the mapping even better, check out the Patch function (Patch function in Power Apps (contains video) - Power Platform | Microsoft Learn)
