Change SQL table used by Power App Form

Hi I have built my first power app and all is working well.

In my SQL DB I created a test table and in power apps created a SQL Data Connector.

Now in the same DB I want to change the table it reads from, is their away to change the Datasource ? I have tried changing the table name in the forms Datasource field and then manually altering the allowValues property of the indvidual cards.  This doesn't seem to work.

My new table is an exact copy of the test table just with a better naming convention.

Can I change the table that the data connector is reading from, or should I create a new data connector to the other table, if so will all the cards work?

thanks

Jason

    You can add the new table to the app and try.

    Hi @Jason8

    The way to do this would be to add a connection to your new table, and to change the DataSource property of your gallery and form controls to refer to the new table.

    In the case of a form control, the card controls are child items of the form. Therefore, if the columns in your new table match the columns of the old table and you change the DataSource of the form, the cards will continue to work as before.

    Hi I created a new connection and pointed it to the new data source, it reads and displays the data from the db table fine.  But the submit form isn't saving. is this because the data cards are unlocked and are now classed as custom cards?

    thanks

    @Jason8

    Make sure you changed the datasource for your form to the new datasource

    Figured it out, the new table didnt have a PK on it, added that and a refresh or 2 and it all started working
