    Yes--it can be done

    Requires on premise data gateway running on a machine that has the oracle tools installed

    Hi @LokeshSurana, do you want to have an Oracle connection or you want to connect Power Apps Portal to an Oracle backend? If you wish to connect Portals to an Oracle database instead of CDS it's not possible. Portal Apps Portal requires CDS to manage the pages and content. One way is to integrate Oracle with CDS,  expose your Oracle data into CDS and then surface it to the Portals.

    You can integrate with Oracle using the gateway like @jlindstrom stated then use Dataflows with Oracle data source or Power Automate if you want to stick with Power Platform integration. Hope this helps...

    good catch @EricRegnier . I missed the word "portal" in there.

    Agree--any kind of data integration with CDS will make the Oracle data available on the portal.

    Maybe a good use for virtual entities if a lot of data

    @EricRegnier  and @jlindstrom  - Thanks for input.

    - This restriction is only for Portal creation or for canvas app and model driven app as well ?

    - For Oracle DB connection we required one more machine to setup and through we required to connect.  Am not understood why one more layer. Other hand for SQL server we able to connect directly by using IP, no gateway required. Can't be Oracle Cloud get connect in same fashion ?

    Unfortunately as of now, the out-of-the-box Oracle connection is only for on-premise, however I'm not sure but if Oracle cloud offers some kind of API, if so you can connect to it leverage using the generic Web API connector or create a custom connector.

    You can submit the idea to have an Oracle cloud connector at: https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Power-Apps-Ideas/idb-p/PowerAppsIdeas

    For the restriction, it will be for model-driven apps as well, but for canvas app you can create an app on top of Oracle by leveraging the connectors or custom connector.

    Hope this clarifies...

    Thanks  lot  @EricRegnier

    So if understood correctly only CDC is the way to synch data ? We can't utilize SQL DB server or MY SQL or Oracle ?

    Yes, for model-driven apps and Portals, CDS is the only way. As we described earlier though, there are many methods to integration with CDS to then make your data come to life with Portals and model-driven apps.
