Importing PowerApps package as a SharePoint list form works, but refers to original list

@TomaszPoszytek : I successfully followed your instructions on https://poszytek.eu/en/microsoft-en/office-365-en/powerapps-en/importing-powerapps-package-as-a-sharepoint-list-form/ to import a modified PowerApps package to customize a new SharePoint list based on the same template as the original list.

Whether I modify the package to be on a new site (https://hecmtl.sharepoint.com/sites/CampusInternationalHEC2 instead of https://hecmtl.sharepoint.com/sites/CampusInternationalHEC) or as another list on the original site, the import works, but the data connexion is still the original and not the new one. Both apps are in the same Powerapps environment.

Everything I can find in the modified package seems to reflect the correct changes (list URLs, list IDs...), but I'm stuck with a connexion to the original list. If I create a new data connexion, it breaks the link to the SharePoint list and can't see either the old or the new, even though the data connexion is find.

Any clue about what could be wrong?

Thanks,

Frank

    Hi @puneetpoojari,

In updating you should be able to find the form you have imported previously. However if not, then the best way would be to remove the existing one and then import it again, as a new one.

To remove existing form, navigate to list settings, then "Form settings", then change to "Use the default SharePoint form" so that option to "Delete custom form" will appear:2019-12-31_13-12-47.png

    Tomasz

    @TomaszPoszytek ,

Create New option  in import is working but but now i want to use update existing option while importing (whether the app should be imported as a new one, or to update existing one.).
On selecting update option, i am not able to see any existing app in the environment which will be updated when this package is imported and import button remains disable.

Is there any more setting/change i have to make for update purpose , please suggest??

    Hi,

so i also failed on the connections. Even when I was trying to change GUIDs of the connections in the ZIP file (you can also find their definitions in the JSON files inside) I wasn't able to make them work, and therefore I was simply removing them from the imported app and adding them again.

    Regards,

    Tomasz

    Hi @fb1t ,

Please consider modify the specific JSON definition file under Microsoft.PowerApps\apps\[numeric values] as below:17.JPG

In addition, please also make sure you have added the specific SP List connection within your Target environment.

    Best regards,
