sql connection to dataverse

Hi all,

I've a customer who's using a low code platform Appsheet from google. They used the app to report to the team at the office and build automatically reports of damaged public property's. At the moment they using Excel as datasource. It works great for them, but they want a backend app for the people at the office. So the requirements are match with a Model driven app solution.

I'm not planning to recreate the appsheet solution at all, I'm only looking to change the datasource from an Excel file to dataverse. So I can still use the appsheet solution and have al the data in dataverse for my Model driven app.

Now the issue is that Appsheet has not a integrated connection with Dataverse. There is a payed solution to make that connection but that's not really cheap.

So I'm looking to a solution that I can build something by myself to connect  from appsheet to my dataverse tables.

Appsheet can connect to MySQL. But is it possible to make a connection from outside to Dataverse using MySQL?

It's required to have read, create, modify and delete permissions.

Anyone know if it's possible to achieve this?

Looking forward to any suggestion.

    Hi,

You can not directly connect to dataverse from mysql. There is a feature introduced my microsoft where in you can query dataverse data from sql however you can only perform read/select operation.

I would suggest you to create Rest API service using dot net framework and you should be able to connect to Dataverse from Rest API using Dataverse Web API and SDK to peform CRUD operation.
