Power Apps in Teams: Data Card Value Fields suddenly with borders

Dear community

In my PowerApps-in-Teams-application, I am using a form. The regular value fields of my data cards are suddenly, for no obvious reason, rendered with thin borders - see my screenshot with red arrows pointing to the borders of two exemplary value fields.

As (at least in Power Apps in Teams) no option is available for configuring the border (e.g. no BorderThickness), I don't see a possibility to get rid of the borders. Switching back to older versions of the app didn't help - the older versions are shown with the same borders (that they didn't have before). Opening the editor in a browser instead of in desktop Teams also showed the undesired borders.

Therefore my questions: What might have changed that datacard value fields are suddenly rendered with borders? And how can I get rid of these borders?

There is one thing that could eventually be related: I inserted an additional screen to the app that apparently used modern controls, which I then later removed again. The option "Modern controls and designs" is not active. Could it eventually be that nevertheless, this adding and removing of a screen with modern controls left something in a cache that is now spoiling my entire Power-Apps-in-Teams-environment?

Many thanks for any hints!
Chris

Wouldn't that mean that they are being treated as display fields?

Thanks for your reply, @ronaldwalcott. Flipping the form from DisplayMode.View to DisplayMode.Edit and vice versa has no effect, the border remains. And the weird thing is: there wasn't any border before 😣

    I don't understand this

You could not have inserted a screen which has modern controls unless the Modern controls and theming is turned on. It appears as if the theming is on.

The controls are matching what you have shown above from what I can see.

I've picked an old screenshot to illustrate how it used to look like:

For unclear reasons, this is not the case any longer, there are now borders comming with the fields for value insertion. And I don't see how to revert this.

Regarding the temporary insertion of an additional screen: I used an available template that automatically adjusted the settings regarding the modern controls, they were automatically activated. After removing the additional screen, I disabled the modern controls in the settings by hand.

I don't know how you updated it but the new screen matches the new controls,

IF you are using it in forms make sure that the form is in edit mode or view mode in view mode it should shown with borders, otherwise check the border color and border thickness in the specific datacardvalue in the form and make the border thickness as zero

    many thanks for the replies!
I'd like to keep the classic controls in use, don't want to switch to the modern controls.

@CU16040638-0: That's the point - even if the form is in edit mode, no possibilities to configure the border properties of data card value input fields show up:

Talking to Microsoft's support on this (thx!), I got a solution:
Activate (settings/updates) modern controls, and replace within each affected data card the data card value field (that showed up with undesired borders) by an additionally inserted, "modern" text input field, which actually provides a possibility to adapt border-related settings. Then make those properties of the new text input field depending on the parent data card, that needs this dependency (Required, Value, Display Mode and eventually others). Also change the data card's Update and Y properties to the new input field, before removing the old data card value field from the data card.

That all sounds great 😊 However, I have lot more than 100 data cards affected ... 😣
So l'll wait for further suggestions and help from Microsoft.

By the way, it seems to also be confirmed that my problem came in by a recent power apps release. Switching back is possible via settings in Power Apps in Teams:
However, in my case, I would have had to go further back than was offered.
