Layout Containers

I am just starting to work with layout containers and have run into a snag. 

 

I have a vertical full width container and want to put 2 smaller containers side by side.   It shows that the 2 containers are inside the vertical container and they are both 1/2 the width.    I have set the alignment to  custom for both, one aligned to the left and one aligned to the right.

 

It is not putting them next to each other though.   I am at a loss here

    Hi @JR-BejeweledOne ,

     

    You could use a horizontal container in a vertical container.
