How can I create a Common Data Service Default Solution?

I am trying to create a Common Data Service Default Solution. If I change the publisher to Common Data Service Default publisher does that mean I am creating a Common Data Service Default solution?.

Thanks in advance.

Hi @HamidBee a CDS Default solution is not something you have to create.

This type of solution is available by default in your dataverse environment, certain Dataverse components (e.g. tables, choices, MD apps...) created outside of custom solutions will be in here. According to the documentation the CDS Default solution 'is available for makers to use by default for their customizations in an environment.'

The CDS Default Solution uses the default publisher. If you pay attention to the logical names of your tables created outside of a custom solution, you'll see this prefix. You can, however, create custom solutions for your own projects.

In this case, it is recommended to create your own publisher and use this one instead. Publisher, in other words, is your digital 'signature'. Custom solutions with a custom publisher will ease your Application Lifecycle Management and give you a better overview of your project components.

Note: The 'Default Solution' contains all components in the system.

I will include some useful documentation:

    1. Creating Solutions
    2. Default vs custom solutions

If this solves your question, would you be so kind as to accept it as a solution.
    Thanks!

I would like to ask if I create an app outside of a solution how do I know if it is a Common Data Service Default Solution or a Default Solution and how can I tell Power Apps which solution I would like it in?.

@HamidBee if your app wasn't created from within your own custom solution, you may be able to find the app in the Common Data Service Default Solution. (open the solution and check in the app section) Note: Canvas Apps can be created outside of Dataverse - causing them not to be displayed in the CDS Default solution.

To migrate your app to your own solution (see Creating Solutions documentation):

    1. Create your own solution
    2. Open the solution & click on 'Add existing' (top toolbar)
    3. Select add app (model driven or canvas)

To note: it is generally best practice to create a solution before your app and tables and create the apps from within the solution itself (Click on 'New' on the top toolbar within the solution). This way all apps, tables... will be prefixed with your linked solution publisher instead of the default one.

Can you please show me (perhaps via a screenshot) where the Common Data Service Default Solution and the Default Solution is located in the Power Apps portal?.

    Thanks in advance.

Hi @HamidBee I used one of the screenshots in the Ms docs.
You will have to (1) select solutions and (2) find the correct default solutions:

In the solutions tab you can also filter by solution name in the top right corner.
