Using public search for generativ answers but without providing any websites

Hey there,

i am kinda new to the exiting Copilot Studio experience and i didn´t find a solution yet for my problem.

I am trying to build a Bot which uses Topics at first and as a fallback the Websites provided in the generative AI datasoruces which works fine. But i also wanna add an additional step to use Copilot Search in general if there is not topic match or provided datasource match. For example if someone is asking how the weather will be tomorrow in xy then it would be great if the bot checks it via bing search and responses with the answer.

Any hints for me how i can use Copilot public search in my Copilot Studio Bot? Or is that only possible calling a Flow with the Bot Action?

This sounds like a good case for Generative Actions!

Generative actions allow copilot makers to build plugins that are loaded by the copilot during a conversation, whenever the context makes it relevant. The example provided in the docs is actually weather related, so try it out.

Hey, @adilei
i have a little problem to try it out.
I am not able to switch on the Dynamic chaining, because it´s disabled and greyed out. (see the screenshot below).
Any tipps how i can turn it on?

I'm guessing your copilot is deployed in a non-US environment, correct? Can you create a US based environment?

Another (maybe simpler path) would be to create a "classic" topic with question nodes, that will call a connector action or a Power Automate flow.

@adilei I have a different issue in my bot. It is giving responses which are outside of the documents that i have uploaded. Responses/answers are not present in the documents I am providing. I want to ensure that the bot's knowledge is confined to the training materials and doesn't extend to external sources. Please help.
