Managed Solution to Unmanaged

Greetings everyone,

We are facing an issue with a dependency on a managed solution on our own software, where one of our developers exported components of our own solution from UAT environment (Managed) and inported to DEV (unmanaged). Several months later and several solutions on top of it, when trying to repackage our repackage our solution to clean up UAT and PROD, we noticed the dependency.

Now when trying to import to a client environment, it always says that it has dependency on the "Imported Solution" (Managed). See ilustration below:

Can anyone advise how to address this problem? This was several months back, and recreating everything that was built is almost impossible and would cause errors in production.

Appreciate any help or guidance you can provide.

Thanks,

PC

We are trying to do something similar without success. Has anyone been successful doing this kind of operation and would be willing to assist?

There is no mechanism in the UI for rearranging or modifying managed solution dependencies. If you cannot roll back the layers because too much has been built on top, then I am very sorry to tell you that your only realistic option is probably to export the solutions, edit the solution xml by hand to remove the dependencies, and then import them in the correct order into a new, clean environment.
