Published Canvas App behaves differently than saved version.

My published app, same version as the saved app, is behaving differently from the saved version in edit mode. I have tested that the app is actually publishing my saved version by modifying some text and viewing it in the published app.

The published app displays some icons ridiculously large, menus items fail to appear and some cards are incomplete. The affected items are actually Canvas Components both in app and from a component library. The thing is the components are displaying differently on different screens. Icon sizes in the component are static values.

This is a hair puller. Any thoughts??

    1. Where is the app embedded (I am guessing Custom Page?)

    2. Are you using custom controls (I am guessing PowerCAT?)

At a fundamental level, essentially all controls in Power Apps are using the same React Fluent(ish) libraries. The problem is that "ish". When you embed your app in a given context -- such as a Custom Page in an MDA -- you invite your controls to inherit style definitions from parent controls over your assumed styles. The best way to overwrite this is to explicitly state style preferences.

When I am working with my own custom React controls in MDAs and I run into similar "WTF?" moments, I open the browser debugger tools and play with various style elements until tweaking one ("font-size", eg.) magically fixes it. Then I look for my equivalent in the custom control and apply it. With Canvas Apps, it can be less transparent, but give it a try: maybe you are just leaving a value to Default (and it looks good in the editor) while you really could be specifying a value (which would make it look good in Prod).

Thanks. It's not embedded, it's a Canvas app with canvas components, no PCF components.
