"Multiple levels of many-to-one relationship expansion aren't supported" suddenly in Dataverse?

MS introduced the ability to do an example like: ThisItem.Location.Name & ThisItem.SubmittedBy.Users.DisplayName without the need of doing the complex LookUp() query each time at some point 5 or so months ago.

The app I've been building for 3 months was working flawlessly using the above methods. But I loaded it up today and it's riddled with this error. Oddly, if I republish the app, it works fine in the published version but the Studio just has the Red X's everywhere.

What are the specifics that can cause this error? Was there an update pushed to UK/US PowerApps platforms?
