For the most part, this is unrelated to PowerApps, however I'm curious if anyone has any pointers/ideas. I will be scanning a DataMatrix barcode into an input box, and retrieving the last 9 characters. My problem is my Zebra RS507 ring scanner is sending control characters to the browser, which results in the browser switching tabs, and activating the "add to bookmarks" hotkey.
How would I go about ignoring these characters? Would I need to build a complex ADF rule for the scanner to only send the characters surrounding the control characters? I'm able to filter the text when the control character is actually copied into the field via this formula, however it doesn't work when the character is directly emulated from the scanner.
Substitute(Substitute(Substitute(DataCardValue4.Text,Char(29),""),Char(30),""),Char(4),"")
Hi @JasonWS ,
I am assuming DataCardValue4 contains the output of the scanner ? If so, does changing the Default to this assist ?
Substitute(
Substitute(
Substitute(
YourScannerName.Value,
Char(29),
""
),
Char(30),
""
),
Char(4),
""
)
