Text blank in dropdown

Hello,

I have a simple canvas app connected to a dataverse for teams table (developing app inside of teams interface)

In the app screen I have a dropdown with Distinct(myTable; 'my column').Value for items

The dropdown is populating with the right items, I can make selections in the dropdown and for example filter a gallery with them, however I cannot see the text in the dropdown choices.

Reading, DefaultSelectedItems should/could be set to {Value: Parent.Default} however .default causes an error. {Value: Parent} validates, but no text is shown.

Can anyone enlighten me?

    Hi

    I am confused. You said its populating correctly but you cannot see the values in the drop down.

    So is it populating correctly or not?

    Please share a photo and explain again.

    Then you talk about default values, so that makes me more confused.

    For the Default Items have you tried
    ThisItem.ColumnName

    @FLMike,

    Hi, I made an error in my original post and copied in the wrong items code - the dropdown items code is:

    Distinct(myTable; 'my column').Value

    As you can see in the image below the dropdown shows no text, however making  a selection is possible and the value of the selection is
    correctly displayed in a text label.
    Reading, trying to resolve the problem, I have seen lots of references to setting the defaultSelectedItem to {} or {Value: Parent.Defaults} but these make no difference.

    With regards to your question, I only see DefaultSelectedItem in the advanced tab, is that what you mean for the default item?

    Apologies for the confusion (I will edit my original post) and thanks for your input so far

    Hi td1979

    The reason for this could just be due to you needing to add Value via the Fields section.

    Can you click Fields > Edit and make sure that Value appears there? I appreciate you're using Power Apps in what appears to be French, so hopefully you can find this setting.

    @timl

    Thank you this was exactly the answer, I added the value field (clicked the field check box) and it shows the text.

    Interesting (or not) if I now delete the control and add another one - it works without adding the value field !?

    Thanks for your help
