I have a list named "DonorCodes", with those fields:-

1) Title
2) Status (Active or Expired)

and this Lookup field named "Grant Code" inside a list named "Grant Applications 2", with these settings:-

Now inside the form i want to only show the "DonorCodes" items which have their Status = Active, i tried this but got an error:-

any advice?
Thanks

    For Lookup fields the only field in the other list you can use for Filtering from the primary list is the one you pick as the primary field. In your case that is Title. You have access to the other values if you add them to the primary list, but you can't use them for Filtering. That's the way Lookup fields are designed to work.

    Filter the looked up list. The problem with the Choices() approach is that it only contains one column Value, which is the Title column of DonorCodes
    Filter(
       DonorCodes,
       Status = "Active",
       Title
    )

    Also Lookup columns are generally unnecessary (I never use them) and will only cause you unwanted complications and restrictions.
    Here you will need to change the DefaultSelectedItems to
    {Title: ThisItem.DonorCode.Value}

    and the Update of the Data Card
    {
       Value: ComboBoxName.Selected.Title,
       Id:
      LookUp(
      DonorCodes,
      Title = ComboBoxName.Selected.Title,
      ID
     ) }

    So should i just show the DonorCodes lists as is insdie the DataCard, and then manually Patch the selected DonotCode ID to the "Grant Application 2 " lookup field?

    Thanks

    Can creating a view for the referenced lookup table showing the active records work in situations like this?
