Sharing Power Apps with Dataverse data data not showing in drop downs

Hello,

I have created an app in a new environment connected to a dataverse database with embedded Power BI tiles. I've been struggling with giving access through a security role to the tables in dataverse. When I share the app with the users they see the app and the tiles but all the dropdowns that contain data options from the tables are blank.
I have given the users, security group member access, environment access, power bi workspace viewing access, app access and the following security roles: Environment Maker, dataverse Search role, Power BI Embedded App Access/PBI Workspace Access and a basic user role that I duplicated and customized it to include viewing rights to all the custom dataverse tables connected to the app. Still when the users enter the app they cant see the data in the drop downs, but they can see everything else.
The only way the users can see the data is when I assign them "System Administrator/Customizer Role" and I don't want to give that level of access.
Any tips?

    Hi @GwendevBI

It appears that the issue could be related to licencing. What sort of licence do the users have?

    Kind regards

    Gulshan

    Hi @GwendevBI ,

If these are custom tables you should create a custom security roles that provides the users access to the appropriate tables in Dataverse.   None of the ones you provide them will do anything around security for the custom tables (unless you gave them system administrator which would).

See the following which discusses the permissions around the tables for your custom role:  https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/wp-security-cds#tablerecord-ownership

    Hello,
I agree I was trying to share the app with users within my organization that don't have power apps licenses. But since Dataverse is a premium connector it seems that all users that would interact with the app would need a license. It's not a sustainable solution for me as the app (after a transfer to a different tenant) will be used by thousands of school children and they cannot each have a license as that would be too high of a cost. I'm wondering if maybe embedding the App on a separate website where an open access to the weblink would solve the dataverse premium connector issue.

You're on the right track! I'm looking this way for a possible solution. The main issue was that dataverse is a premium connector and users without a power apps license cannot access it. Do you know if I can work around the issue by embedding the app to a website?
